Relapse

Had a massive row with Ang last night and she ordered two pizzas and 8 cans of fosters. It was her first drink for over 3 weeks. She had her last drink of a can of fosters on a Sunday and it has been really volatile here since. She’s had terrible mood swings and been hardly getting any sleep. Most nights she has woken up between 1.30 and 3. I’ve been getting up at 5.30 and we’ve been out with the dogs between 6 and 6.30 for their first walk. She’s been to edaas once but been too tired to keep going. I’m so sad today because I had to go to the shop this morning to get her 3 bottles of Barnstormer. Seems she’s all set for a binge now. I got up at 6 today and she was drinking and had been up quite a while. She went to bed when I got up after a while and was very angry still. The argument was all because I arranged for a friend to come over today at 11. She started screaming and getting violent. When she was ordering the fosters and pizzas she was screaming down the phone to the man and in the end I had to finish the call because she was getting too angry. I had to put both the dogs in the bedroom because she started throwing things around and screaming which really upset Buster. Dainty just looked terrified. I couldn’t get her to leave but thankfully she settled down when she started drinking.

Trying again

Ang started drinking heavy again about 2 weeks ago. She had a fall in the bedroom and caused a lump on the back of her head. A couple of days later she fell in the hall and banged her forehead which came up in a big lump. The next day she had the start of a black eye forming which got worse over the next week. We talked and she arranged an appointment at the doctors to get checked over because she had a lot of pain from her fall. She’s managed to cut her drinking down to just one can last night and arranged another appointment to get medication to help her give up completely from today. She also had an appointment to arrange councilling sessions so things are looking up.

Tomorrow

Eight days ago Angela stopped drinking. She was fine for 4 days and talked a lot about things in her past. On the 5th day she had terrible problems and started shouting and acting psychotic. She calmed down after a while and started crying. These mood swings went on until she had some brandy and went to bed about 11. At 2.20 she got up and I had to get up as well to keep the dogs safe. She started shouting and I couldn’t get her to leave. Eventually I called the police to get her removed and they arrived some time after 4. They were extremely heavy handed and dragged her out into the front garden. I couldn’t stand what they were doing to her so asked them to go which they did. Later that morning I phoned my social worker and Ang snatched the phone off me and threw it across the room losing one of the batteries. I used Ang’s mobile to ring her again and while I was talking to her Ang started shouting and hitting me. My social worker called the police and they arrived about 5 minutes later. By then she had calmed down and they managed to talk her into leaving. Later on my social worker visited and we talked for a while. That night I took the dogs out before supper and forgot to lock the front door on the way in. Ang came over while I was getting their food and walked in. I asked her to leave but she promised not to cause any fuss and begged to stay. I let her and she was quiet til the next day when she got up at 3.15. I had to get up again and went out with the dogs at first light about 6.15. I rang her half sister Martine and asked if she could come over and dog sit while I went to an appointment. She agreed and managed to miss the stop on the train and ended up in Wareham where she caught the next train back. Ang was still going through mood swings and drinking loads of brandy and coke. She on her fourth bottle today. She goes quiet for a while and then starts shouting at me which upsets Buster and starts him barking. I’ve decided to get the dogs rehomed as it’s too disruptive her for them and in a way cruel. I emailed a springer spaniel charity earlier today and am awaiting a reply. It’s going to break my heart getting rid of them but it’s not fair to them having all the shouting and violence. Tomorrow came for Ang but it all went wrong. She needs to go into rehab but I don’t think she ever will so I must think of the dogs welfare.

Storm

Seen loads of swans at backwaters lately while the weather has been cold. Numbers between 20 and high 30’s at times. Buster got attacked by Storm yesterday. Luckily the woman got him off quickly and Buster didn’t get hurt. Dainty had slobber all over her side so she might have been bit as well but I couldn’t find any blood anywhere on either of them. We ran into storm coming home first thing this morning.
Told Ang a few days ago the financial collapse could take up to 6 months longer than August 2010. We’ll have to wait and see if this is more accurate than August 2010.

Slow times

Ang and I stopped up New Year’s Eve and saw the New Year in. After midnight I rang Mum and somehow got connected to Jane who had just rang Mum so wished her happy new year and then rang Mum. Martine came over New Year’s Day and stayed the night. Ang went back to the Doctors about a week ago and got more painkillers. She’s been having a Build Up every day for a few weeks but isn’t eating very well. Three days ago she went on a binge for two days. There have been lots of swans down at the backwaters lately but the weather has been grey for ages now and it’s depressing.
