An evening out

Ang and I went to the Gurkha restaurant on Poole quay on Thursday with Helen and Graham. Lee came over and dog sat for us and we caught the train to Poole at 6.36. It was raining when we got to Poole so we took a taxi. The taxi driver put us off going by saying she hadn’t heard any good reviews about the place. We were early so went in and got a table and a drink each. I had a sweet and salty mango lasey and Ang had a mineral water. Helen rang at 7 and said they were just parking. There were only a couple of other tables occupied so it was quite quiet. We decided to start eating so went up and helped ourselves. There was a really good selection and Graham and I started off with chicken and sweetcorn soup. Afterwards I had two plates full of various dishes including a to die for Nepalese chicken curry. Everyone else went back for seconds and had a slice of gateaux and cream to finish off with. Finally Ang had a French coffee, I had an Irish coffee, Graham had a coffee and Helen had a cup of tea. Everyone was well happy and we called for the bill. To our surprise a round of complimentary drinks was brought to us. Baileys for the ladies and whiskey for Graham and me. Helen offered to drop us home so we went to the car park and another bonus was there was no charge for parking the car. We phoned Lee to let him know we’d be back in 20 minutes and got home about ten to 9. Helen and Graham didn’t come in and the first job I had to do was get the dogs out for a wee and get them fed. They had been really good for Lee and he had a coffee and then went on.
When we got back we told Lee about it and said we’d recommend it to anyone.
Saturday Ang went over to see Martine. I had a quiet day and got the dogs out for two walks. I took them behind the railway track to keep them clean for a day. The third walk was rained off. Ang got a bottle of vodka today and got really tearful after half of it. She then took her medication and fell asleep on my sofa.
