After the rain

Managed to get dogs out twice today so far. They both been enjoying puddles at the backwaters. Took a picture of one type of mushroom growing in field by the shops and some flowers that have established themselves along the edge of the path.

Started a document entitled Gentile this morning. Seems to be going well at the minute. Nuts we ordered arrived yesterday. Had terrible problems with taxi driver sent to collect Ang’s prescription. He rang twice to ask what chemist it was and where it had got to be delivered to.

May 26th 2008

Ang came over yesterday and stayed the night. Got to bed about 11. Watched 11th hour and scanned it into computer. Will convert it later as took adverts out last night. Missed some bits as had to feed dogs and take them out for a wee. Had loadsa pain in shoulder by end of night. Woke this morning just after 7. Got dogs out and it was raining. Had coffee and watched a bit of news. Was still raining so took dogs onto back green to have a poo. Loadsa snails and slugs about in the grass. Went down shops for Ang and got soaked on the way back. The phoenix landed in the news today. Got euronews on at minute. Think I’m going to cancel TV package soon as want freesat. Am annoyed that freeview not available in this area for 4 years. Surely it breaks competition rules somehow. Shoulder and arm hurting this morning. Tried to get some pictures of snails earlier but had to go out a second time to get 3 good shots.

Have appeased the dogs by give them a chew each. If rain hasn’t stopped by midday will have to take dogs for a walk. They both not keen on the rain. They hardly run about when they get off the lead and seem to want to come home. Strange because Dainty loves water.

Reed fire

Watched morning programmes on BBC1 til about 12 then took dogs out. Managed to get a picture of the burnt area by the picnic bench.
Nothing much got damaged and the reeds will grow back really quickly. Took dogs there for their second walk. Ran into quite a few people out with dogs and saw a blue butterfly at chads copse. Didn’t manage to get a good photo though. Not much in flower in the grass there yet. Clover and buttercups are about the only things. Haymeadow is much the same. Got back and watched program about new Indiana Jones film then had a bath. Then watched news and caught up with progress in Burma and China. Trying to work out whether pains in left shoulder are linked to twitch in left hand. Seem to get waves of pain in shoulder followed by period of intensified twitching. Decided this morning was going to continue with blog even though the authorities are reading it and may use things I say against me. Things like be warned china, my shoulder is still playing up, more earthquakes are on the way.

Spring flowers

Woke late today at about 8.15. Got dogs out for a wee and then phoned Ang’s mobile. She didn’t answer but phoned me back about a minute later saying she hadn’t managed to get to phone in time. She was ok but just going to bed and said she might see me later when she woke up. I watched news for a bit and then got dogs out for a walk to backwaters. China still in news as another person rescued alive. Managed to run into white Alsatian while out. Buster saw it first but thankfully listened to me when called him. Got back and fed dogs then put computers on. Checked Ang’s emails and did her charity clicks. Looked at postcode on google earth sent to us by someone looking for an exchange. Not too keen on the area but we’ve had someone else in that county reply so might be able to sort out a double exchange. Shoulder still playing up a little.
Yesterday was up at 6.15 and when took dogs for a walk saw fire brigade damping down an area over by picnic bench. Will try and get some pictures of it today. Managed to get pictures of a really unusual flower yesterday.
Never seen one before. Hope it’s still there when Ang next comes out with the dogs with me. Took some pictures of the flowers growing in Ang’s front garden a few days ago.

She’s let her garden go wild this year. Her neighbour cleared his and is letting it grow back on it’s own as well. I’m clearing mine back hopefully next decent weather as potatoes and onions are coming through. Got loadsa apples on tree. Will have to thin them out soon as way too many for tree. Took these pictures of the work been done at the haymeadow and all the foreign soil that’s been placed either side of the new gravel path.

Some native plants have been isolated now by the path.
I dread to think what will happen to the haymeadow over the next few years. Took this last picture down by the boat beach.
