Disbelief

Wednesday and Thursday we practiced with dogs some more. Success a little more with Buster. Managed to get them off the lead as well but they seem unsettled a bit lately. Friday we ran into a mini motorbike on one of the dogs walks and had to put them on the lead. Found out from the courts that the case against the bloke that beat me up has been discontinued. Am awaiting letter from CPS to explain why. Ang been searching for a flat for her step-sister but had no luck so far as she’s got a dog. Everywhere says no when she says there’s a dog. So ends the month of my birth.

While Greece burns

Past few days have been slow for me. Dogs are slipping back into pulling on the lead. Need to do another day of walks on their own. Dog warden came Sunday and took a statement. Afterwards 2 friends came around and we went for a walk to Mucky Pond. Dainty went in the ditch she went in on my birthday and got filthy. Luckily we’d checked the tide was in and she got cleaned up at Lychett bay. We stayed for a while and then walked back via the shops. The dogs both crashed out after our friends left and Ang and I watched the video I taped a few days ago. It was about democracy. Ang was as angry as me after it was over. Monday Ang’s step sister came over with 3 relatives. Two were young girls and there was 3 dogs. A white Alsatian cross collie puppy, an Alsatian and a cross breed. They all went to Hamworthy beach and Ang took some good photo’s. Today Ang went to see her Mum with her Aunt. We had a delivery from Sainsbury’s with over half the dog food missing. Really annoyed as they do this a lot. It’s why I normally go to zoo-plus for dog food.

Cruelty and Depression

Ang has been over for last couple of days although she’s quite depressed. We’ve managed to get a few good walks in. Today we got disturbed by the tractor cutting the grass so had to put the dogs back on the lead. It cut the dogs walk short but we came out again after a couple of hours to make up for it. We wandered over the hill and noticed there were no kids in the park. Got back and two friends came over. They stayed a while and the dogs jumped all over them like puppies. Went to Wareham about 4. Left dogs with Ang and was back within an hour. Watched the One Show tonight. Ang wouldn’t watch it last night because they had a piece about animal cruelty on. We watched a progamme about elephants instead. Fed dogs about 7.45 while Ang watched Corrie. Watched Stephen Fry about depression afterwards. Got a video to watch I taped a couple of nights ago. It’ll be a surprise as I’ve forgotten what I taped!

Rotten fish

Yesterday enjoyed a few decent walks with the dogs. Much better on the lead even together now. Buster pulls a bit until he’s had a few wee’s then he settles down. Went to Wareham but train was delayed so missed connection back and had to wait nearly an hour. Wandered around for a while in some really pretty areas not far from the station on the outskirts of Wareham. Stayed up quite late watching TV and sent emails to quite a few people on some lists I’ve compiled. Really good program about Islam. Woke this morning about 7.30. Fed dogs 8.30ish then took them to the Backwaters. Ben was just going in from his walk when we got there so Buster didn’t get the chance to play today. When we got to the field nearest the shops Dainty hung back and rolled in something. I got them home and the flat suddenly developed an odour of rotting fish. I called Dainty over, took a strong sniff and nearly threw up. I had to bath her to try and get rid of it. I’ve got to wash both beanbag covers now as she rubbed herself over both when she came in before I realized she stank. Ang came over about 10.45 and Bubs flew at her as she was coming to mine. I went down the shops for her and got a couple of things. Got my bedding in washing machine at the minute but have changed covers on beanbags.

Dog attack

Last night turned into a nightmare. Fed the dogs at 7.45 and took them out on the green. Someone came to Jenny’s door while we were out there. Jenny answered and let both her dogs out. They both came running round to where I was with Buster and Dainty. Bubs attacked Buster and then Dainty and Dijon attacked Buster. Jenny eventually managed to get them to follow her and I took our two in. Had to report incident and hope it doesn’t destroy the last 2 days work. Waiting for a phone-call tonight about it.
Got to bed about 12.30 and was woken at 5 by Bubs barking and waking Buster. Took dogs for a walk together to the Backwaters about 7.15. Got back at 8. They were better on the lead but not good yet. It’s been raining today and since their first walk I’ve only managed to get them out on the green. Desperate to get some more lead work done but after 2 minutes on the green in the rain they want to come in. Dainty hates the rain yet loves water. Buster even wanted to come in earlier. Nobody about with dogs in the rain on the estate so not much good for training today. Need to know how badly the attack has affected them. Dainty was really upset afterwards and sulked for nearly an hour. She’s got a small injury under her chin as well. Hope the rain clears soon as need to get dogs out for heel work.

More Education

Got dogs out separately twice so far today as Ang was here. Buster is responding to heel work and correction to his aggression towards dogs on the lead he doesn’t know. Dainty not as good with heel work but only started with her today. Got twice as many walks to go on now in each day. Buster wasn’t howling the times I came back with Dainty but Ang was in the bedroom asleep and I think he knew. Up to about 6 minutes on his own now though. Going to have to watch they don’t get irritable with each other because they aren’t getting long walks and any time off the lead. Dainty has refused her breakfast twice today but she had a really late supper because she turned her nose up at it at 7.45. She finally ate about 11 last night. Still can’t get any of the varieties that they like at ZooPlus. Might end up having to get UK pedigree chum from Sainsbury’s if they don’t have some soon as running low on cans. Handed over forms for exchange when guy turned up last night after he rang. A step closer to having an enclosed garden so Dainty can be outside without her muzzle. Don’t know if it will happen though as lots of things have to be sorted out yet.

Education

First post in 10 days. Was going to post yesterday but it was my birthday so didn’t bother. Ang came over today but didn’t stop long. I went down the shops for her and took her shopping to her flat. Tomorrow the chap we might do an exchange with is popping round to pick up the two forms for the exchange. He’s visiting Swanage so will be in the area.
Since the last post not much has happened. Dainty hurt one of her back legs again and had to go on rest for 2 days. Angela went to visit her half sister in Guildford with her Aunt. They met at Bournemouth station and took the train there. I walked her to Hamworthy station to catch the 7.35am train and met her at 9.42pm when she got back. She was really happy when she got back but by the next day her mood had plummeted. She went home the next night but returned in the morning. On the 14th she went home on the evening and didn’t come back until today about 2. I spent my birthday on my own but went on a really long walk to “Mucky pond”. Managed to get some good video of the dogs going mad by the edge of Lychett Bay. Haven’t downloaded camera yet so haven’t seen them full screen. Also cleaned the bedroom and washed all the bedding. Buster tried to help me make the beds but ended up sitting in the middle of my bed while I was trying to get the sheets on.
Went to Wareham on the train with the dogs on the 7.08. Dogs were ok on the way there but had a scene getting off the train on the way back. A crowd of people were trying to get on. I had to warn them to stand back while I got the dogs off. Both started barking as I got off and a young lad freaked out. I was not impressed when his mother said my dogs should be put down. Don’t I just love people who want to kill things. That woman’s passing those views onto a child. No wonder the world is messed up. Hopefully school will put him right.

One week

Didn’t do much over the last week. Each day much the same looking after the dogs. Ang was over most of the week. Thursday we did a shop at Tesco on-line. It was delivered Saturday at about 6.20pm. Just managed to fit everything in freezer and cupboards. Loadsa fruit and salad, fish products and a little chicken. Ang and I are nearly total vegetarians now. Feeling a lot healthier for it. Before the delivery Saturday we jumped on a train to Holton Heath and went on a walk we know not far from the Station. It was really deserted and we found a nice shady spot and sat for a while. We took water for the dogs and spent a couple of hours before we got the train back.
Sunday we had a lazy day and only got the dogs out twice. I watched Heaven and Earth and Countryfile in the morning. I had a bath and put some washing on in the afternoon. Ang went home Sunday night and came back around 6 this morning. Today was too hot again for Dainty so they only got 2 walks during the day. We took them out about 7 on the leads then fed them about 7.45 after we’d got back. Ang watched the soaps and I did this post. My first for a week.
