Today I rose in anticipation. I had lots to look forward to. I've got two short videos on YouTube. The first one is a still of the Covenant of ARK. The second is a small cartoon I threw together and recorded in Windows Movie Maker. Unfortunately no more viewers since yesterday. That was first letdown of the day.
Next I checked if I'd got my email from BritBlog yet. Second letdown of the day. It's not quite 48 hours since I registered this blog though. Got to be patient.
I then decided to look into placing Second Sentients in Wikipedia. I found out something that really got me annoyed. It's not a suitable entry. Apparently it's a neologism. I was not a happy bunny.
I thought about it and decided that if I worried about that I would believe nothing I did was worthwhile. It would negate Web theory. This is explained here and mentioned here. This led to the findings of some research published here.
It did worry me though but thankfully my wife went for a walk with me with our two Springer spaniels. She took a few photos and I came back and wrote this.
We had pasta with homemade sauce when we came home. I can't stand all the rubbish that they put in sauces. I'd never made one before and did it like this.
Put pasta in water and bring to boil.
Crushed 3 garlic cloves with knife and then chopped them.
Added this to some oil in saucepan on low heat and started stirring with a wooden spatula. Angela, my wife, had diced an oinion and I added that after the garlic had sizzled for about a minute. I increased the heat a little and stirred until oinions were starting to cook. Meanwhile Angela had put a tin of tomatoes in a blender. This I added to oinion/garlic mix and brought to the boil. When it started boiling I added a good splash of cider vinegar and some mixed herbs.
By now pasta was cooking and sauce was boiling. Angela had grated some vegetarian chedder and I was stirring sauce. When pasta was cooked the sauce had reduced quite a bit and so I removed it from the heat and stirred in a good handful of grated cheese. I then served the sauce over the pasta with some more grated cheese over the top.
It weren't bad. But I ain't a chef. I just know we don't like chemicals and hydrogenated fats and emulsifiers and preservatives which you find in a lot of sauces you can buy.
We're now about to go out and continue with my front garden. We planted potatoes yesterday and are preparing a trench for carrots today. Thats the best I can do to lower my food carbon footprint. Wish I had a back garden as well.
We're planning on potatoes, carrots, lettuce and tomatoes. Maybe a few herbs as well.
